FREE boat inspections by the Coast Guard will be June 2, 2024, from 9am – 2pm at Marble Lake Resort and Sunset Cove.  Branch County Marine Patrol free boat inspections will be held on June 9, 2024, from 11am – 2pm at Wildwood boat launch.  Boaters will NOT be ticketed during these inspections if they do not meet the standards.

The Marble Chain of Lakes Improvement Association board would like to thank and congratulate Sheriff John Pollock, Sgt. Josh Vickers, and the rest of the marine patrol deputies for another safe and successful year on the Chain of Lakes. Talking to John and Josh about key points that led to their success in maintaining not only law and order but promoting water safety, Sgt. Josh Vickers said he recommends young boaters seeking their boater safety certification, to really consider doing it in the class room program versus online. Officers can cover so much more and have great discussions. It also gives the young boaters a chance to ask questions and get to know the officers one on one. Check our website to sign-up for a Boater Safety Class. Also, be sure to participate in the free boat inspections. As Josh points out, the Marine Patrol is here to educate and help you with new regulations, and make sure your watercraft is legal and has the right safety equipment, not to write tickets. You will also get an inspection certification sticker to display on your boat.

THANK YOU to all the members of the Marble Chain of Lakes Association for your generous support of the Marine Patrol. With your added donation to your membership dues, we were able to donate $4,497.02 to help with the purchase of a desperately needed motor for one of the patrol boats. With your monetary support, another Sheriff patrol boat will be put on the water to keep our chain of lakes safe.

The fireworks display on Marble Lake will be held on Friday, July 5, 2024, at dusk. Thanks to the contributions from our association members and local businesses we had a spectacular show in 2023. Our goal this year is to increase support so we can have an even bigger and better show.

The fish stocking program has been going on since 2017. Last year we put 500 Walleye in Archer Lake and 500 Walleye in Long Lake. We also put 500 Perch in Archer Lake, 500 Perch in Long Lake, 700 Perch in Marble Lake, and 300 Perch in Wright (Mud) Lake. This creates more fishing opportunities for everyone. Please help support the fish stocking program with your donation.

The 9th Annual Coldwater Lake to Marble Lake Boaters Poker Run Fundraising Event will be held on July 21, 2024. More information will be provided at the June 8 meeting.

Come out to beautiful Tip-Up Island on May 11, 2024, from 12-3 pm to meet and greet your lake neighbors and catch up with each other while enjoying an informal luncheon. Hot dogs, chips & salad will be provided. Bring your own drinks. There will be prize drawings and a Yeti Cooler giveaway. There will also be a display on the history of the Chain of Lakes, along with “lake product” vendors and other local businesses. Hope you can join the fun!
